A series of fire beacons along the coasts of Norway and Scotland will be lit in solidarity, and to raise awareness, about a pristine part of Norway’s island coastline that’s under threat from a licence being awarded to drill for oil and gas. Norwegian environmentalists have to block this every four years.
On Saturday 11th March Our Forth is hoping to launch small burning paper boats into the Forth Estuary to highlight the dangers to Norway’s coastal area that’s under threat. Our Forth is planning to run the event near the Espy pub next to Portobello beach from 3.30-7pm (4.30-8pm Norwegian time)
Everyone is welcome and the event is supported by Friends of the Earth Scotland.
