As we in Scotland await the decision of our government over the consultation on fracking, many of us wondered if we could organise a trip, or multiple trips, to help the protectors at Preston New Road Blackpool.
Friends of the Earth Scotland are organising the transport using Eventbrite.
Friends of the Earth Scotland are organising a bus to travel to Preston New Road (from a central belt location tbc) on the evening of Thursday 27 July, returning on Sunday 30 July.
Pick up & drop off locations tbc (likely Edinburgh and / or Glasgow)
Thursday 27 July – departure approx 6pm
Sunday 30 July – departure approx 5pm
We are asking for a nominal fee of £5 per head to secure your place on the bus, which we will be donating to Rolling Resistance to help them cover their costs. If you want to donate more to help FoES cover the full cost of the bus that would be hugely welcome.
There will be free camping accommodation at the Camp of New Hope on Preston New Road. Please bring a roll matt, a sleeping bag and tent. More accessible sleeping space (i.e indoors with a bed) can also be provided for those with access needs. Please indicate if you have accessibility needs when you complete the registration form.
There is a kitchen on site at Maple Farm providing 3 meals a day on a donations basis. Food will be mainly vegetarian and vegan. Other dietary requirements may not be provided, but we don’t want this to stop anyone coming so please indicate if you have any particular dietary needs on the registration form.
