Our Forth is holding a workshop on Thursday 9th March, 19:30 at the Wash House Portobello. Everyone is welcome.
We at Our Forth hope to inform the public on how to participate in the consultation process on banning fracking. The following URL will take you straight to the government’s website where you can make your response.

For anyone unable to attend the Broad Alliance (a collection of anti UGE organisation from all across Scotland) has a web page with lots of helpful advice on how to have the maximum impact when responding to the ScotGov consultation
Trish Buchan pointed out recently…..
We live in a participatory democracy. It can only function effectively if people participate.
Do not tell yourself you don’t have to bother because plenty other people will fill in the consultation.
This false belief resulted in fewer than 500 submissions to the last public consultation on fracking. …
Our government are meant to act upon the wishes of the people.
Jim Ratcliffe MD of Ineos said that if the people of Scotland don’t want fracking we won’t get it.
Our government finds out what the people of Scotland do or don’t want through public consultations.
If the only people who respond to this consultation are industry insiders, the result will be that the electorate are all for fracking. By not participating the industry can argue that silence is consent. The industry will always participate.
If you do not complete the consultation, in five years when the wells are drilled, our water is poisoned, our indigenous industries decimated, our children unwell and our homes damaged, whilst insurance companies refuse to pay out, you cannot complain, blame the powers that be and say you didn’t want this industry.
YOU MUST TELL THE GOVERNMENT IF YOU OPPOSE FRACKING.
SILENCE IS CONSENT.
